SOLIDARITY NOW Greece |
SolidarityNow (SN) is a non-profit, humanitarian organisation founded in 2013, on the initiative of the Open Society Foundations, to respond to the needs of the most vulnerable and marginalised groups, irrespective of race, religion or ethnicity. SN’s Headquarters are in Athens, with large operations in Thessaloniki and activities across the country. The organisation’s vision is to improve people’s lives and to empower them to create a just and inclusive society. SN’s actions fall under three main strategic priorities: a) Safety and protection, b) Catalysing livelihoods opportunities, c) Strengthening the independence of civil society and defending open society values.
Between 2013-2017, SN has supported a total of 80 different programmes, 28 of which provide support to the general population in Greece, and 52 specifically address the needs of migrants and refugees. To implement these programmes, SN works with over 70 organizations, including civil society groups and public bodies.

Dominika Spyratou Dominika Spyratou is Advocacy Officer at SolidarityNow. Her work focuses on defending human rights and promoting social inclusion and integration of asylum seekers, refugees and migrants as well as developing effective messaging campaigns that reframe the negative narratives on migration and refugee issues. Prior to joining the organization in 2017, she worked as the Manager of the Civil Society and Human Security Research Unit at the London School of Economics where she managed multi-partner, research and dialogue projects about crisis affected regions. She holds a Master of Arts in International Relations from the University of Sussex and a B.A. in Balkan Studies from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. |
